Of all the genres Jocelyn has read, science fiction has to be the least known to her and she is excited to start thinking about writing this type of story!
First step is to read some age appropriate science fiction books to become more familiar. Of course, her brother has read and watched a lot of Star Wars, and she's an avid watcher of Phineas and Ferb, which has some sci fi elements, but beyond that she isn't really drawn toward books about aliens and outer space. I've read some dystopian novels but I'm also not really into sci fi, as much as historical fiction or realistic fiction.

There are some other classics I can think of, like A Wrinkle in Time and The Secret of NIHM (of which I've only seen the movies, can you believe it?!)

exciting! not sure I read any sci-fi but do love the movies, corny or not. My favorite books of all time would be James Herriot and his experiences with animals, but they would be for when she is a bit older.. enjoy your books Rainy, will be watching for your interpretations and stories! love, gramma
